Dr. Gilbert has authored over 100 publications and is a recognized authority on Male Fertility and Urologic Ultrasound. He edited and authored multiple chapters of two nationally acclaimed textbooks on urologic ultrasound. He is a Professor of Urology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
He is passionate about Urologic education and has organized training programs in microsurgery and urologic ultrasound as well as lectured locally, nationally, and internationally. Over the past 20 years, he has trained over 1,000 Urologists and Sonographers in Urologic Ultrasound. He has been a member of the Accreditation and Communities of Practice Committees of the AIUM.
Dr. Gilbert completed his medical degree in 1983 at Cornell University Medical College and Urology Residency at the New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center. Before that, he completed a Doctorate (Ph.D.) at the New York Medical College followed by postdoctoral work in Renal Physiology supported by the New York Heart Association in the Department of Physiology at Cornell University Medical College.
He is married with two children. He has a love of boating, continues to practice at golf, and is an instrument-rated pilot.
